Welcome to the Ettihad Cultural Center!

ABOUT OUR CENTER

Ettihad means "unity" or “alliance” in multiple languages that are spoken in the Ettihad Cultural Center, including Farsi, Urdu, Hebrew and Arabic. The Ettihad Cultural Center (ECC) represents communities from the Horn of Africa, North Africa, Southwest Asia, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. Ettihad was a student organization that was formed in the spring of 2012. ECC eventually became a Cultural Resource Center in OSU. ECC is now housed in Student Experience Center, Suite 380.

The term “ettihad” is also a foundational concept for for the center. ECC prides itself in being a space for community members to embrace their cultures, histories, struggles, and triumphs.

ECC is a student-centered space that offers OSU students resources to co-design programs and events throughout the year. We host student-designed cultural events that educate, entertain, and encourage cross-cultural understanding among all students. ECC is known for its signature events, particularly the annual program the Ettihad Cultural Festival (ECF) that was first hosted on May 19, 2013. Each spring, ECF offers a wide range of cultural activities, including music, dance, singing, art, performances, traditional clothing, amazing food, and more. ECF has attracted thousands of attendees every spring that the event is one of OSU's largest programs.

We welcome everyone to join us – even from a distance. If you would like to be connected to our resources from afar, please let us know, and we will work to include you in our efforts.
