Job & Internship Resources

It can sometimes be challenging to land a job or internship in professional media. On this page, we share resources to help students and alumni find professional opportunities. Please see below for links to job boards, training, mentorship, and professional organizations.

Job Boards

The following are larger job boards. Many of them list jobs in a variety of media fields, including news, reporting, photography, social media, sales, marketing, sports, broadcasting and technology. Many of these job boards allow you to set up email alerts when new jobs are posted.

  • Bobnet.rocks (touring and live stage production jobs. $ membership required)

Training & Mentorship Resources

The following sites have various resources for additional training, mentorship, lessons and job boards. Take advantage of these resources to learn how to update your resume, write cover letters, learn new skills and ace job interviews.

Company Websites

Below are the job listings for various media companies around the country, broken up by industry. Each of these companies owns various news outlets or media organizations, and will often update their pages with recently posted jobs.

State Press Associations

Every state has a press or broadcast association where they post jobs. Search for press or broadcast associations in states where you are looking for jobs and internships

Join a Professional Organization

Students looking for paid internships should also consider joining professional organizations (most of which offer low student membership fees) for the assistance and opportunities that they provide. See the American Media Institute's list of professional organizations
