Student Experiences & Engagement (SEE) is an experiential learning and student development organization within the Division of Student Affairs at Oregon State University (OSU) committed to co-creating dynamic opportunities for students to explore meaningful involvement, strengthen their leadership skills, and transform themselves and their communities. SEE programs and services include community building, social justice, student media, creative expression, service-learning, clubs and organizations, and social, educational, and culturally relevant programs. We provide services for thousands of students, hundreds of communities, 300+ student organizations, 7 cultural resource centers, and dynamic facilities for arts, media, and a commercial community kitchen. We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Specialist, a self-starting professional experienced in working with dynamic and multifaceted teams, who can amplify the power of experiential learning and engagement as a critical component of the university experience. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, in-person, professional faculty position. The salary range is $53,000 - $75,000. The position will join the SEE team in advancing the mission and core work of the organization. We are made up of 4 departments/15 units, 26+ full time staff and 400+ student employees. Reporting to the Associate Director, the Marketing & Communications Specialist will be responsible for network engagement, the promotion of hundreds of programs, services, and opportunities, as well as planning the coordination of special projects for SEE. The incumbent will carry out marketing and execution of various campaigns and will manage and create content for social media and the website. The successful candidate will play an integral role in building and engaging OSU’s diverse student body, growing our student users and participants, and creating communication strategies that will promote the long-term growth of the SEE organization.
This position will be the first full-time opportunity for our relatively new organization going into our fourth year of existence. This position will be responsible for creating a solid foundation for marketing and communication and integrating best practices with a student and equity driven focus. Each of the units has a unique and important contribution to the student experience, and it will be this position’s responsibility to principally curate and effectively generate stories of transformation and impact in compelling ways to external and internal audiences. Additional opportunities include being able to work effectively within an higher education context with diverse populations and stakeholders.
