“I watched this and thought, oh my God, this is what I want to do,” Keady said.

Keady got more practice as a high school student, becoming the video producer for Sheldon High School’s marching band (he played trumpet). But he said he feels his skills really took off after joining KBVR-TV at Orange Media Network soon after transferring to OSU from Linn-Benton Community College in fall 2021.

He remembers his reaction on seeing the studio and control room during an OMN open house.

Vazquez, 30, is going into her fifth year as a Digital Communication Arts major with a minor in music production at Oregon State University. But moving from hair care to music production wasn’t as big a switch as it sounds. 

Born in Los Angeles to a family that moved to Florida and then to North Carolina, Vazquez had an aunt who was a hairdresser and always considered her a role model. “She always looked like she was having such a good time doing that job,” Vazquez recalled.

Oregon State University senior Ashton Bisner has been named the top collegiate graphic designer in the nation. 

Bisner, who is the creative lead for Orange Media Network, was named Best Designer this past Friday in the national College Media Business & Advertising Managers annual competition. 
CMBAM is a nonprofit membership organization for university student media groups and their sales, marketing, design and management groups. Awards were announced remotely during a virtual conference.
