You can take the skills you learn at OMN — critical thinking, problem solving, attention to detail, project management, leadership, grace under deadline pressure, interpersonal skills/teamwork, writing and communication, grit, curiosity, and more— and apply them to any career. Employers want graduates with these skills, and OMN students develop them through the process of creating national-award winning media.

NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Here at OMN, we help students of all majors and experiences develop marketable leadership and communication expertise while learning and practicing hands-on professional media skills. You provide the interest and enthusiasm, we’ll provide you with the technical skills, equipment, training, and mentors to turn your ideas into TV shows, podcasts, news articles, magazine stories, photo shoots, documentaries, marketing campaigns, and more.
All content at OMN is created, decided, and produced by students. Students decide and make what goes on the air, online, and in print.

The Daily Barometer
Founded in 1896, this student newspaper covers local news and events while raising awareness of key campus issues. “The Baro” features diverse perspectives in its forum section and received a Pacemaker in 2017, the college media equivalent of the Pulitzer.

Prism
This art and literary journal is dedicated to the self-expression & creativity of OSU stuents from all backgrounds and majors. It features content created and submitted by student artists around the campus, including poems, paintings, sculpture, essays, and photography.

Beaver's Digest
This online magazine focuses on student life, food, style, and fun.

DAMchic
This quarterly fashion magazine is the authority on all matters of style at Oregon State University.

KBVR-FM
Broaden your musical horizons on 88.7 FM or online at Orange Media Network. With over 100 student DJs, KBVR-FM delivers unique music, fresh topics, and original podcasts 24/7. As an FCC-licensed, non-commercial station, it reaches listeners within a 30-mile radius of OSU. Want to promote your event? Submit a PSA form. KBVR-FM is your place for dam good radio!

This team is home for Beaver Athletics coverage from the student journalists of Orange Media Network at Oregon State. This team covers everything from football and soccer to club sports online, on social media, in OMN publications, and on a podcast.
Sports at Orange Media Network

Photography students work as freelance photographers for the different mediums, capturing a wide range of events and news in pictures. They regularly attend sports games, major events, protests, fashion shoots, and more to capture photos.

This team of student graphic designers and photographers create design and photography for advertisements and promotional materials for OMN, Student Experiences & Engagement, and external clients both on campus and from the community. This team of students supports all of OMN's marketing and promotional needs. They work directly with OMN mediums on social media management, event planning, and marketing strategy. They manage the general OMN social media accounts, run OMN tabling activities, create marketing promotions plan, manage the photobooth and develop strategies to build awareness and engagement.

The engineering team helps support the broadcast, technology and event productions at OMN. Student engineers get hands-on with video and audio technology, learning the ins-and-outs of a broadcast facility, to help make the best use of the facility for student productions.
